I tried this firmware and the problem was gone – I can power off instantly and board can power on fine later on.
I’ve also noticed the BOOT0 is version 3 using the debug console.

But this image is for Cubietruck and does not have the correct settings installed for Cubieboard2.
Please could you provide updated image for Cubieboard2 ?

If you’re using LiveSuit 3.06, extract the included awdev-dkms_0.5_all.deb, and build the module in usr/src/awdev-0.5 folder. It built and flashed for me with Linux kernel 3.13.2.
